Our History

MSC Germany GmbH is acting as agents and on behalf of their principals MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, S.A. of Geneva, Switzerland, a privately owned shipping line, founded in 1970, which has grown rapidly to become one of the leading global shipping lines of the world.

Since the early beginnings MSC Geneva has been represented in Germany for nearly 30 years by the F.H. Bertling liner group of companies, succeeded by MSC Germany GmbH as from 01.07.2006.

During recent years MSC's maritime fleet has expanded substantially to reach in 2002 the rank of the second largest carrier in respect of container slot capacity and of the number of container vessels operated. Such spectacular growth has been achieved internally and not through acquisition or merger.

MSC provides an unparalleled service network via dedicated own offices throughout the world and remains a truly independent and private Company able to respond quickly to market changes and implement long term plans, without unnecessary interference or delay.
